The $1600 fee covers traditional doula services, including a free initial consultation, 2 prenatal visits, and continuous labor and birth support from the time you're in active labor, plus two postpartum visits. The $2000 fee covers full monitrice services, including all doula services, plus I will come to your home as soon as you would like me to be there, where I will monitor your vital signs, monitor the baby's heartbeat and do cervical exams on request. Monitrice care is the best option for someone who wishes to labor at home for as long as possible before going to the hospital or birth center.
